2010 Sailing Schedule

2010 Sailing Schedule Version 3-2-10

So the schedule has been put together as best we can this far in advance.  We wanted to get this out there as soon as possible so people start making plans now.  There is always a chance that the schedule will change and we will contact anyone who is affected by the change if you have signed up for a particular passage.  As soon as we have determined what the TBD(To Be Determined) sections will be I will update the schedule with a new post.

I encourage all of you to sign up to be a trainee for passages soon.  This is a big season for us with many great passages to make and thousands of miles to sail on all 5 Great Lakes.  We are also going to be a part of the Tall Ships Challenge Race Series with ASTA racing against many other tall ships.  With ports stops of Duluth, Chicago, Cleveland, Toronto, Green Bay and Put in Bay it’s sure to be a fun summer and quite the adventure.  Trainees will start joining the ship once we start uprig and will leave once downrig is complete.  Let’s fill the ship this summer!

Who wants to go sailing?

I’d like to go sailing again! When is the application going to be put up? I looked on the flagship Niagara website and it looks like this year’s application still…?

  2. ekebolou says:

    Hello,

I apologize, as I couldn’t find a better location to ask. I’d love to apply to sail for part or most of the 2010 summer season as a live-aboard. I’ve a couple of months (total) experience sailing other tallships, but haven’t put in for an OS license yet. Is there an email address I can write to, or should I send in the trainee application?

Thank you, and again, sorry if this is an inconvenient method of communication.

  3. Keith Kavanaugh says:

    Captain,
Waiting to crew up. Is there any way you can send me information needed for ships stewart position 2010.

    What’s planned for the 200th anniversary in 2013… ?

    • Paul,

PHMC has no intentions of commemorating Niagara or the Battle of Lake Erie in 2013. PHMC will be focusing their efforts on the 150th anniversary of Gettysburg. The Flagship Niagara League does intend on commemorating both the building of the fleet, the ship and the battle at some point during that summer. No dates have been set yet. 2013 though is going to be another Tall Ships Challenge year with many tall ships coming into the Great Lakes. The festivals and port events will all most likely have a War of 1812 theme.

  6. Paul Zinger says:

Will the Niagara be sailing to Port Colborne for Canal Days celebration in August 2010?

    • No we will not be at Canal Days this year. I will say though that the people of Port Colbourne were great. Thet really welcomed us with open arms. We will most likely stop off in Port Colbourne on our way through the Welland Canal.
