So it’s only been 5 month since I last posted an update here on our blog. I apologize for that. Conditions of the service is my only excuse.
It has been an excellent 5 months for us though. We sailed 99 days this year which is the most I have seen in 6 seasons. We sailed nearly 5000 miles and went to all 5 Great Lakes and participated in American Sail Training Association’s Tall Ships Challenge. We even won one of the tall ship races.
Downrig is underway now. We should be finished with that by next week and then we will be putting the winter cover on October 23rd.
I will try to get more updates here now that we are not sailing.
Hi Billy,
So glad to hear you had a great season. Could you give me a figure for how many school children visit during the winter?
Thanks!
Mary,
Are you talking about school groups that takes tours through the museum and ship?
Billy
THANK YOU
FOR THE GREAT SHOW YOU PUT ON IN DULUTH MN. WE WERE THERE ALL 5 DAYS.
WAS A ENLIGHTENING EXPERIENCE FOR BOTH ME AND MY WIFE. BOTH OVER 70 YEARS AND WAS SOME OF THE BEST IN ALL OUR YEARS.
THANKS BOB
When the tall ships come again, it would be good to have some “walking” tickets for people who only want to look. Not everyone could afford the full pricedtickets to go on board.
Bob,
I’m so glad to hear that you enjoyed the Duluth Festival. The crew loves coming to Duluth. Not only do we get to sail on Lake Superior, we also get to come to your city. You are some of the most gracious and generous hosts. I look forward to sailing to Duluth again soon.
Billy
Mary,
I will pass the “walking” ticket idea on to the organizers of the next tall ships festival.
